Established in 2023, ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ (BIU) is a young, dynamic and aspirational higher education teaching hub of the University of London in Erbil, the vibrant capital city of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. BIU embodies a visionary pursuit: to deliver high-quality British higher education across the region.
With a strong dedication to quality, BIU aspires to cultivate a generation of global citizens equipped to address 21st-century challenges both locally and on a global scale. Our awarding provider, the University of London, is a unique federation of 17 independent higher education institutions that are ranked in the top universities worldwide according to Times Higher Education.

Founded in 1836, the University of London (UoL) is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the UK, renowned for its worldwide recognised programmes.
